We went to settlement on the boat yesterday and woke up this morning to find ourselves boatless! GULP! Actually, it is a good feeling. Short Walk has a great new home on the other side of the bay and will soon have a new name.
Truly, we are ready to move on to the next chapter of our lives. We plan to spend some much needed time at home, reconnecting with family and friends here. Later this year, we'll start planning some land based travel. The only hard part of the sale was knowing we won't be seeing our boating friends as often as we used to. However, we are not saying goodbye as we plan to visit Rock Hall/North Point every summer and as we travel, we hope to keep in touch with those of you in other parts of the country. You can run (or sail) but you can not hide!
Congratulations and our deepest sympathy on your boat loss. We guess Big Run will have to carry the torch without Short Walk. Now that the sale is final can we uncross our fingers, toes, etc., OR NOT!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. That didn't take very long! Short Walk is a beautiful boat and I am sure you will miss her. Remember you can always jump aboard any number of boats to "crew" if you get a yearning for the water. Good luck with your new adventures. Are you now C.L.O.D.'s?

Tom/Ann, Greg and I would like to thank you, again, for many things....keeping Short Walk in such fine condition, all the work you did to get her ready for us, and the most gracious, heartfelt turnover ever. Short Walk is now La Dolce Vita. And we LOVE her! She is certainly sweet because of you. We wish you both wonderful adventures on land.
ReplyDeleteWe will be heading south this Fall, so Friends of Short Walk, look for La Dolce Vita and if you see us, give us a shout.
